With this massage session, a combination of Deep Tissue and Myofascial Therapy techniques are applied to tense areas needing immediate attention, like adhesions (or knots). This type of technique warms the tissue layer by layer, to relieve those areas of tension, and that's when the therapist can work deeper in those specific muscles causing the pain. After working with the muscles that need immediate attention, the therapist will then add lotion, switching to a more relaxed, Swedish massage*. This technique can be focused in one or two areas of the body for the entire session, or we can incorporate it into a full body, it's the client's choice.
*What is Swedish Massage? Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility. This is a great option if you just need a relaxing massage experience.
This modality is for the person who just wants to relax and even possibly fall asleep on the table, which is completely welcomed! Let the nice soothing strokes of Swedish Massage* take you to a new level of relaxation. This massage is mainly to relax and not work on specific adhesions (or knots), and uses lotion to deliver those familiar kneading and gliding strokes that massage is known for. This is a full body massage; the client will be draped on the table at all times, while the therapist only uncovers the area they are working at the moment. Please remember, the therapist will NOT be working underneath clothing.

**Requires client to provide at least 3 pillows for session.**
Prenatal massage is designed to focus on the mother-to-be, and the changes on her body due to pregnancy. This type of massage is done side-lying, meaning the client is lying on her side, propped up and surrounded by comfy pillows. This massage technique focuses on entire body, except for the stomach. I just love this type of service and making the Mamas comfy, and I understand the toll it takes on your body! You deserve some relief.
Please understand, as of right now, I am not certified to work with the baby and stomach directly. (I hope to be certified for that soon, keep checking back!) Also, it is outside of my scope of practice to use Shiatsu pressure points to induce labor, so please don't ask me to do it, I won't.
